Skiing in the Glarus region – small, fine and full of vigour

In the Glarus region, the slopes are as smooth as silk – and there are no crowds. In Elm and Braunwald, you can enjoy top-quality slopes, sunny hillsides and plenty of space for big turns and small talents. Whether you are a family, a connoisseur or a sports enthusiast, you will find your ideal pace here. And if your legs get tired? Then you can simply enjoy a delicious fondue or a coffee with a view instead of stressing about it.

Elm Ski Resort

In Elm, you always have a great view of the Martinsloch and the Tschingelhörner mountains, which is why this photo is a must in the hanging seats at Pleus – the highest point of the ski resort, at 2,100 metres above sea level. Then you can speed down and decide: left to the Munggä Hütte, right to the Berghotel Bischofalp, or even a bit lower to Älpli or Ämpächli? The best thing to do is to stay as long as you can and try all four.

Ski resort Braunwald

The Braunwald ski lifts will cease ski operations after winter 26/27. They will focus their offerings on slow-paced winter tourism and will discontinue traditional ski operations from winter 2026/27 onwards. The children’s area at Grotzenbüel will remain in operation. The decision is part of a comprehensive strategic realignment.

Ski resort Schilt

The ski resort gets by with a plate lift and a T-bar lift – and with the wonderful view from the terrace of the Naturfreundehaus Fronalp. A popular spot for families and ski clubs – and ski tourers who can take the first T-bar lift right in the shadow of the ski lifts. Then the way to the Schilt is not so far either.

The Schilt ski lift offers perfectly groomed slopes, plenty of sunshine, and breathtaking alpine scenery.
