Berggasthaus Gumen, Braunwald

The Gumen mountain inn is located right next to the mountain station of the Gumenbahn. The cosy mountain inn at 1901 m above sea level. M. can be reached via hiking trail (from Grotzenbüel approx. 1.5h) or via Gumenbahn in a few minutes.

The cosy restaurant can accommodate up to 80 people. A parlour and a large sun terrace are also included.

The ideal starting point for various experiences in the mountains
Where the view of the Glarus mountain panorama seems more unique than anywhere else, where you can simply be. The Gumen is the starting point for the Braunwald via ferrata, the Zwerg-Bartli adventure trail and the panorama hike. More challenging tours such as to the Ortstock, Bös Fulen, up to Glattalp or even into the Klöntal also start here. Connoisseurs can marvel at the mountain panorama from the sun terrace or the 'Edelweiss bench'.

Accommodation
We spoil you in our restaurant with a fortifying breakfast and half-board guests with a fine dinner. You can only pay in CHF (cash, debit card or credit card). Groups can also ask for an invoice.

Our rooms are simply but comfortably furnished - in a typical Alpine atmosphere. We have 1x3 rooms, 1x4 rooms and 5x8 rooms. 

3-bed/4-bed room:

A bunk bed

• One single or double bed
• Shower and toilet in the room
• Bed linen and towels provided
• Please bring your own hut finches

8-bed room:

• Four bunk beds
• Shower and toilet on the floor
• Bed linen and fabric sleeping bags available
• No terry towels provided

Room prices with breakfast:

• 3-bed/4-bed room - CHF 105 per person excl. guest tax (CHF 4.40)
  Children up to 12 years - CHF 75 excl. guest tax 6-16 years (CHF 2.20)
• 8-bed room - CHF 80 per person excl. guest tax (CHF 3.00)
  Children up to 12 years - CHF 50 excl. guest tax 6-16 years (CHF 1.50)
• 8-bed dormitory - CHF 70 per person excl. guest tax (3.00)
  Children up to 12 years - CHF 50 excl. guest tax 6-16 years (CHF 1.50)

(Locals Glarus Süd do not pay guest tax)

Half board with a 2-course menu:

• Adults: CHF 30 per person
• Children: CHF 20 per child
