Brunnenberg - Guppen - Schwändi

From the mystical Oberblegisee once not towards Braunwald, but upwards again over Guppen down to Schwändi.

On the wide path, always steadily ascending, you reach from the mountain station of the Brunnenberg aerial cableway the Alp Oberblegi Unterstafel. (There you enjoy for the first time a cheese platter, a refreshing drink, or you stock up on the fine Oberblegi alpine cheese). Freshly strengthened, you then reach the saddle, which offers the first view of the idyllic Oberblegisee.

At the signpost, turn right towards Guppen. The narrow path gently ascends along the ridge, amidst splendid blooming alpine flora. The path repeatedly offers a beautiful view of the sparkling Oberblegisee and the surrounding mountain panorama. On the right side of the path, deep views into the valley can be caught. At Yenstock, walk around Leuggelstock towards Chilchli, then descend to Guppenseeli. Rock formations of all kinds now adorn the surroundings. After a short flat section, it gently rises again to the Alp Guppen Oberstafel (where there is again the possibility to stop and refresh with hearty alpine cheese) and Furggeli.

This is the highest point and the last ascent is done. From here, the path descends in a zigzag course. Steep slopes accompany you on both sides. Passing Guppen-Mittelstafel, you walk on a beautiful path, repeatedly through forest along the Guppenrus down to Schwändi. From there, every hour you have the possibility to take the postal bus to Schwanden or take the mostly asphalted path on foot.
