VISIT Glarnerland is a patronage partner of ESAF 2025 Glarnerland+
The largest Swiss sporting event, the ESAF 2025 Glarnerland+, will take place in the canton of Glarus next August. VISIT Glarnerland is proud to be a patron of the intergenerational event and is delighted to be able to provide the organising committee with active support.
The first Swiss Federal Wrestling and Alpine Festival will take place in the canton of Glarus from 29 to 31 August 2025. The ESAF is not only the largest sporting event in Switzerland, but also a huge folk festival. Around 350,000 visitors from all over Switzerland are expected from Friday to Sunday – the festival thus provides a unique platform for presenting the canton of Glarus as an attractive tourist and leisure destination to a broad audience.
Support on a broad level
VISIT Glarnerland supports ESAF 2025 Glarnerland+ on various levels. The organisational committee and VISIT Glarnerland have signed a corresponding patronage agreement. The agreement also covers VISIT’s presence on the festival site – VISIT will be presenting itself to the guests together with tourism partners from the region on an area of around 100 m2 from 16 August (opening of the gift temple) to 2 September.
Accommodation at ESAF 2025 Glarnerland+
As part of the partnership, VISIT supports the organisational committee mainly in terms of personnel. As the head of the accommodation department, Managing Director Fridolin Hösli and his team are responsible for organising the accommodation during the festival. In addition to the official ESAF campsite (capacity for 15,000 people) and numerous mass accommodation facilities (capacity for 3,500 people), a platform for private accommodation providers was created for the ESAF – this is because the hotel capacities in Glarus and beyond are not geared to such a large number of guests. Thanks to the private hosts and hostesses, around 8,000 additional accommodation places have already been secured. All official accommodation options can be found on .glarnerland.ch/esaf.
