Roger Rhyner and Leopold Ramhapp take on responsibility for Glarusnord Walensee
Roger Rhyner and Leopold Ramhapp are expanding their sphere of activity at VISIT Glarnerland: in addition to their responsibility for the development of tourism in Glarus, they will also be responsible for Glarusnord Walensee. This means that the duo will be able to provide even more impetus for the entire Glarus region in the future. At the same time, they are ending their careers at Radio Zürisee after more than 30 years, where they were well-known as influential voices, particularly for the Glarus audience.
Continuity and new perspectives for Glarusnord Walensee
For the past two years, Roger Rhyner and Leopold Ramhapp have been fully committed to the tourism development of the Glarus region. Every day, they contribute their creativity and experience to create new offers and to further develop existing ones. Now, they are also taking on the responsibility for Glarusnord Walensee – the gateway to the Glarus region. Their goal is to specifically develop the tourism potential of the region, to intensify the collaboration with the service providers and, above all, to actively involve the local population.

Strengthening tourism – developing offers specifically
With the expansion of their remit, Rhyner and Ramhapp aim to set new standards in the areas of local recreation, quality of life and existing services such as seminars. The region should not just be seen as a transit area, but as an attractive region with a wide range of experiences on offer. ‘We are very excited about this new task, but we will also approach it with the necessary respect. We attach particular importance to direct exchange with the service providers. Together, we want to further develop Glarus Nord Walensee as the gateway to the Glarus region and create innovative offers.’ Fridolin Hösli, Managing Director of VISIT Glarus Region, adds: ‘With Roger Rhyner and Leopold Ramhapp, we have two innovative and committed personalities who will drive the two regions forward with their broad experience and commitment. Their many years of experience, their network and their creative energy are a great asset to the entire Glarus region.’
After more than three decades in radio, Rhyner and Ramhapp are embarking on a new chapter – and they are doing so with great passion.
