Via Glaralpina

The Via Glaralpina – the nature experience for long-distance hikers. In 19 stages, the impressive Glarus long-distance hiking trail leads over ridges and into valleys of the Glarus region. It leads from the valley floor via various alpine areas to mountain lakes and up to fascinating glacier worlds.
Most of the Via Glaralpina runs on white-red-white marked mountain hiking trails, but the big highlights are undoubtedly the new white-blue-white marked alpine hiking trails. In some places, they lead up to over 3000 meters high, over jagged ridges or high alpine landscapes. The paths are partly wild and original, unique in Switzerland.
The requirements for the Via Glaralpina are a good basic fitness, hiking knowledge in terms of weather and seasons.
Main hiking season: July to October.
