UNESCO Welterbe-Ausstellung Kerenzerberg
The UNESCO World Heritage Exhibition Kerenzerberg in the seminar hotel Lihn offers interesting insights into the Sardona World Heritage Site and an overview of the formation of the Alps. During the exciting tour, you will learn a lot about geological research in the Glarus Alps and the Glarus main thrust. Videos and touch screens provide further information and local stones can be explored with the help of a microscope. The exhibition shows: ▸ Five information walls about the formation of the earth, the Alpine mountains and the history of research in the Sardona World Heritage Site ▸ Two video and one touchscreen stations ▸ Microscope with a wide range of rock exhibits ▸ 3D relief of the Glarus Alps ▸ Information and books on the UNESCO World Heritage Site Tectonic Arena Sardona The Kerenzerberg World Heritage Exhibition complements the Glarus Visitor Centre with the two locations in Glarus (in the nature centre/railway station building) and Elm (in the old Schoolhouse). In this way, the canton of Glarus becomes an information hub for topics such as geology, ecology and geotourism. The three locations are starting and finishing points for hikes and excursions in the Sardona World Heritage region. On request, guided tours by expert and specially trained GeoGuides Sardona can be booked. Admission free.
