Paragliding launch site Kerenzerberg (743 m.a.s.l.)

Ideal area with N, NW and valley winds

The Kerenzerberg is ideally located near the Zurich-Sargans motorway. The flying area is an ideal area with N, NW and valley winds. Although there is no large difference in altitude to the landing site in the valley floor, great soaring in the valley wind and at bise is possible at any time. The take-off site can be reached after a short ascent from the car park on Kerenzerbergstrasse. The slope is very often shared with gliders/hang gliders (right of way rules...). Please note: the more pleasant way goes up from the bus stop "Chappellenstutz" 47.10630,9.07895 (described below). The ideal time of day is the afternoon in spring and summer. In winter, the area is only for the hard-hearted. Directions from bus stop "Chappellenstutz" 47.10630,9.07895 This is the most convenient way to the launch site and takes about 15 minutes. At the "Chappellenstutz" bus stop, turn right up the small steep road, after 210m turn left at the hiking trail sign 47.10446,9.07937 in the direction of "Vor dem Wald/Mühlehorn". Follow this beautiful hiking trail until the starting meadow with the windsock appears. The entire ascent takes about 15 min.
