Ortstockhaus - Chatzenstafel
Snowshoe variant of the hike from Ortstockhaus - enjoy the peace and power of the winter Braunwald nature!
The adventurous route from the mountain inn Ortstockhaus back towards Grotzenbüel leads over the Chatzenstafel. This is located just below Ortstockhaus, but offers a short stretch entirely in the snow without a prepared path.
The section is marked but not cleared, providing a varied snowshoeing experience. After 20-30 minutes, you return to the groomed winter hiking trail and can take the return route via ski trail / Grotzenbüel.
The Ortstockhaus is the listed jewel at 1772 m above sea level and enchants with a magnificent view and one of the most beautiful sun terraces in the Glarus region. You can reach it via the Gumen combined lift and winter hiking trail from Gumen via Braunwaldalp-Oberstafel.
