Nussbüel-Weg

The circular trail at Braunwald in Glarus offers uninterrupted views of the high-Alpine mountain chain and an exciting nature experience. Deep green forests, austere rock formations and a captivating panorama invite you to linger.
At the beginning, take the funicular up to the mountain station. As soon as you get outside, a fantastic picture of the Glarus Alps is already revealed. The route alternates between flowering meadows and shady wooded areas and offers a breathtaking view of the mountain and valley.
You can see wild blueberries, gentians and many other plant species in all colours. Imposing boulders also line the roadside here and there. There are various options for a relaxed rest. There are fireplaces for barbecuing, but also any secluded places of your choice to rest. If you prefer, you can also stop at the mountain restaurant in Nussbüel.
On the lush green slopes you will discover isolated wooden huts typical of the region. On this route, the perspective of the Ortstock mountain is particularly impressive. But the distant view over the rest of the Glarus Alps also accompanies you faithfully on the entire tour. And again and again the blooming valley complements the perfect scenery until you reach your destination.
At the valley and mountain stations there are wheelchair-accessible toilets.
The Nussbüel restaurant is accessible at ground level, but does not have a wheelchair-accessible toilet.
