KfM - The Kommithée fuehr Müsick

Since 1987, KfM - The Kommithée fuehr Müsick has been organizing concerts in the Glarus region.

In 1987, the KfM - The Kommithée fuehr Müsick was founded in the vicinity of the Tönende Halle association, a self-help organization of musicians without a rehearsal room. While the KfM concerts were originally intended as a promotion for the Holenstein Glarus rehearsal venue, over the years they developed into one of the most regular organizers of concerts, especially in the field of jazz.

For this work, the KfM was awarded the Culture Prize of the Canton of Glarus in 2001.

The founding crew with Peter Bienz, Tom Etter, Sibyl Rezgueni, Felix Stüssi and André Maerz was later joined by Martin Stähli, Andreas Brodbeck, Andy Rohr and Otto Fischli. Since 2012, the KfM has been headed by Otto Fischli. André Maerz and Urs Hauser continue to work with us.

Since 1987, the KFM has organized around 400 concerts, first in the Tönende Halle, then in the Holenstein Cultural Center and since 2001 in the Kunsthaus Glarus, in the Villa Fontana, Ennenda, in the City-Chäller, Glarus, in the Söldenhoff Hall, Glarus and since 2021 in the Anna Göldi Museum in Ennenda. Again and again, special rooms are also selected for special concerts: Ennenda Church, Glarus city church, the Landesplattenberg.

After the Mettlenfest in the 1980s, the KFM in Glarus also organised larger festivals with international stars in 2016, 2019 and 2023.
