Käsepass Alp Ramin

The path to Alp Ramin leads from Elm Töniberg via the Raminer Stäfeli and the Raminerwald to the Mittelstafel and on to the Stafel Raminer Matt, where the cheese pass box can be found at the hut.

It's a rustic world up here, the Ruth Marti family from Schänis – "z Elmä bini aber geborä und ufgwachsä" – she says, manages the stately Käsealp with her team.

The rest of the hiking trail leads impressively over the Foo Pass and into the Weisstannental.

The most beautiful hikes to Alp Ramin:

• Via Elm / Töniberg to the Raminer Matt (the cheese pass box can be found at the Stafel Raminer Matt)

• If you want to go further, take the hiking trail via the Foo Pass to the Weisstannental (long distance / reserve an overnight stay in the Weisstannental in advance)

The Raminer Matt alpine pub is open on nice weekends.
