GLKB Flowtrail
The Klöntal lies west of Glarus. The backdrop is impressive with the striking Glärnisch, which is reflected in Lake Klöntal. Probably the best view of the mirror-smooth water surface is from the Schwammhöhe, where the flow trail down to Glarus starts.
Access is either via the Sackbergstrasse or from Lake Klöntal, which can be reached by post bus from Glarus.
The flow trail back down to the valley adapts beautifully to the terrain. It has been completely recreated. The surface is either natural or has been developed with local material. Countless steep wall curves, tables and small and large jumps provide plenty of trail fun.
If you are a little less experienced, you can avoid all obstacles. There are a few rocky passages, but overall the route is super flowing and not very steep.
Young and old, beginners to professionals - everyone has fun on the Glarus Flow Trail. The start is winding, through the forest it goes to Vorder Saggberg. First along the edge of the forest, then drive a short distance in the clearing over the asphalted Sackbergstrasse. A short breather is called for here. After the pasture, the trail dives back into the forest - and there it starts again with curves and hairpin bends.
Once at the bottom, the path branches off again in front of the shooting range and leads back to Glarus.
