Surrounded by bogs, the Flüewald forest lies at the end of the Niederurnertäli. The moss carpets and dwarf shrubs covering the rock blocks give the forest a magical structure. Spruce trees entwine the rocks with their roots. Unmistakably, the cuckoo calls from the forest in summer before heading back to Africa.
Experience the forest reserve
The forest reserve can be explored on foot from the mountain station of the Niederurnen-Morgenholz cable car in four hours. The trail is usually passable between May and October.
