The forest along the Klön is well adapted to flooding. Grey alder, ash, willows, and sycamore maple dominate. Natural river courses, like the Klön, are rare in Switzerland. Together with the floodplain forest, they offer an extraordinary variety of habitats and native species.
Experience the forest reserve
The forest reserve is located along the Klön and at its mouth into Lake Klöntal. It can be explored on foot from the parking lot or bus stop at Plätz in one hour. The path is usually accessible between June and October.
