Gipfeltour Schilt-Tristli

From Äugsten via Rotärd to the Schilt and then to the Tritstli and back again.
The circular hike begins at the mountain station and first leads via Äugsten and Schwibödeli up to Alp Beglingen. From there, the path climbs in several hairpin bends to the Rotärd pass. The distinctive reddish soil gives this transition its characteristic name and forms an exciting scenic contrast to the surrounding mountains.

The route then leads over the Schilt to nearby Tristli. This short detour is particularly worthwhile because of the impressive view of the Linth Valley and the wide Linth Plain.

For the way back, the same route leads back over the Schilt and the Rotärd Pass towards Äugsten. The cosy sun terrace of the Äugstenhütte invites you to take a well-deserved break on the way. With a magnificent view of the Glarus hinterland, you can enjoy the mountains to the fullest.

From the hut it is only a few minutes' walk back to the Bärenboden mountain station, where the circular hike ends. If you want to extend the hiking day, you can alternatively descend from here on foot to Ennenda or use the cable car for the comfortable descent.
