Blockhaus Mettmen

The Blockhaus Mettmen is located in quiet nature west of the mountain station of the Niederurnen–Morgenholz cable car. With overnight accommodation for up to 6 people and a spacious outdoor area, it is ideal for small camps, barbecues, private events or as accommodation along the Via Glaralpina.

The log cabin and its surroundings convey a Nordic feeling. The outdoor area has 30 covered seats, two fireplaces, a fountain and a large great playground with an adjacent stream. You can spend the night in the log cabin (take your mat and sleeping bag with you). The Swedish stove serves as heating and a gas stove is available as cooking facilities. Dishes are available for 20 people. There are also sinks and cupboards. A toilet with running water is also available. Water is only available in the log cabin in the summer months. Dormitory for 6 people, you can also book individual sleeping places with the municipality. The log cabin is located on the sculpture trail and is an overnight stay for the first stage of the Via Glaralpina. The Mettmen log cabin can be reached on foot from the mountain station in just under an hour.

No drinking water.
The log cabin is not rentable from November 1st to April 1st .
A driving permit (CHF 50) can be applied for for one vehicle. The reservation confirmation is valid as a driving permit and must be deposited in a clearly visible manner in the vehicle.
The driving licence entitles the holder to one ascent and one descent each. For further transport, the Niederurnen–Morgenholz cable car is to be used.
