Alpine Cheese Dairy, Pragel Bödmeren

Over the summer months, the milk from 12 alps around the Pragel Bödmeren area is processed into the finest dairy products in the alpine cheese dairy, resulting in versatile, high-quality products.
The Pragel Bödmeren area is an impressive natural and cultural landscape. The spruce forest is considered the largest "primeval forest" in Central Europe. The open pastures have been used for centuries. The farmers of the Muotathal have shaped the Pragel Bödmeren cultural landscape in family farms over generations. The dairy industry has always been of central importance in this.
The alpine farmers were looking for a way to keep the greatest possible added value in the region. After 2 years of preparation, the Alpprodukte Pragel Bödmeren Cooperative was founded on 6 July 2007 in the Pragelpasshöhe restaurant. The shop in Mittsweid is closed over the winter months.
