Along the Walensee

The tour leads along Lake Walen with a fascinating view of the mountain range of the Churfirsten.

You start in Walenstadt and cycle in the first stage with a view of the mighty Churfirsten mountain range on the lakeside path to Murg. On Saturdays and Sundays, you unfortunately have to switch to the road because many hikers use this path then. In Murg, you have the option to interrupt your bike tour and take a trip with the Walensee ship to the car-free Quinten (variant A).

Back in Murg, you continue your bike tour and reach the lower end of the Walensee - Weesen with its charming harbor. Those who want to experience more can take a detour to Betlis, to the Seerenbach Falls. You have probably already noticed these waterfalls from the other side. With almost 600 m height difference, the Seerenbach Falls are among the highest waterfalls in Europe. At the same time, the middle tier, with a drop of 305 m, is considered one of the highest free-falling waterfalls in Switzerland. After this natural spectacle, you cycle back to Ziegelbrücke, from where the SBB takes you back to your starting point.
