Zwischen Himmel und Erde

For the first time, the Zürcher Sing-Akademie is a guest in Glarus – and, together with the Orchestra La Scintilla and its artistic director Florian Helgath, brings an extraordinary concert evening to the Stadtkirche.
The focus is on two impressive works by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach: the festive, virtuoso 'Magnificat' and the overwhelming double-choir 'Heilig'. In between, Michael Ostrzyga's 'nimm mich zu sich' (Take me to himself) is a world premiere of our time – inspired by the touching farewell letter of Tjark Evers, who died in an accident in 1866, and an intimate antithesis to Bach's radiant sound world.
The Zürcher Sing-Akademie stands for tonal excellence and personal interpretation and is regularly on the road on international concert stages. For her Glarus debut, she now brings this experience into the special atmosphere of the Stadtkirche: an evening between hope and despair, this world and transcendence – and an invitation to rediscover choral music in all its expressiveness.
