Emil Brunner – Berg Kind Welt
Date
20. June - 18. October 2026
30 years after his death, the photographic work of Emil Brunner (1908-1995) will be shown for the first time in his home canton of Glarus.
The exhibition "Mountain Child World", curated by Glarus photographer Fridolin Walcher and realised together with the BSINTI Kultur association in cooperation with the Fotostiftung Schweiz, will take place from 20 June to 18 October 2026 on the Braunwald sun terrace.
The result is a large-scale, "hikeable" exhibition that combines Brunner's photographic work and the landscape of Braunwald in a special way. It includes various experience spaces: In the Bsinti exhibition room for alpine photography, photographic documents from Brunner's work as a travelling photojournalist and mountaineer are presented, while along the walking paths, 30 stations with touching portraits of children provide insight into everyday life for children in 1943/44. The experience is complemented by image and audio stations in six stables, which invite you to immerse yourself in the social reality of the mountain families. The former schoolhouse in Braunwald opens its doors and becomes a hands-on space that enables exchange between the generations.
