New learning arrangement for the World Heritage – Wimmelbuch
The new spotter’s book on the World Heritage Site of Sardona has captured the hearts of children. A learning package for children up to the fourth grade is now available. It was presented to interested teachers from the World Heritage region at a launch event.
Switzerland has 13 unique sites on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and these are presented in a child-friendly way in the ‘UNESCO World Heritage’ jigsaw book. In collaboration with the Schulverlag plus, a complete free teaching unit for schools from the 1st to the 4th class has now been developed.
On the occasion of the launch of the new teaching unit at the Glarus Nature Centre in Glarus, staff from the Swiss World Heritage Sites Association, the Schulverlag plus and the World Heritage Office presented the teaching unit. The event was organised especially for teachers from the Sardona World Heritage region and gave them the opportunity to get to know the new teaching unit, to receive suggestions for teaching and to exchange ideas with other teachers. One enthusiastic user reported on the children’s enjoyment of working with the jigsaw book. The children’s beautiful drawings also tell the same story.
The new teaching unit enriches the existing range of teaching materials on the Sardona World Heritage site for schools at all levels. Further information is available at www.unesco-sardona.ch/schule, bildung@unesco-sardona.ch oder Tel. 081 725 56 07.
