Overnight under the stars - wandering with pack goats

Out and about with pack goats and staying at their yurt camp home

Werner Bleisch runs his pack goat farm amidst the rugged and diverse natural beauty of the Glarus Alps. His farm marks the starting point of the two-day tour, a tour that takes us into a stunning mountainscape far away from everyday routine. The adventure kicks off from the yurt camp, where the goats live. Curious goats are waiting to meet you.

As social guides, they accompany you on your upcoming hike and even lend a helping hand carrying your gear. Head off to the Glarner Lochsite, a place worth a visit on a tour of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site Tectonic Arena Sardona. The main Glarus overthrust, usually only visible from a distance at Tschingelhörner, Segnespass or Kärpfbrücke, can now be seen up close.

After the close-up view of these historical geological features, the pack goats lead us back to camp, where we can enjoy a fire-cooked meal, before taking in the peace in our yurts on our beds of straw.
