Discover the area where you move? Bringing the history of the Glarus Alps to life - this is the aim of the Alpine Museum team. Because the Glarnerland was right in the middle of it all. The first SAC hut in Switzerland is located in Glarus, the Grünhornhütte (today it is a small museum at 2448 metres above sea level). The Tödi-Clariden area was designated as the first excursion area of the SAC Switzerland. SAC Tödi was one of the founding sections of SAC Switzerland. The Glarnerland has the first mountain guide association in Switzerland. And there is even more to discover - namely 300 million years of rock history.
