From 1.1.2025, all guests who spend the nights in the canton of Glarus are entitled to receive the GlarnerlandPass (guestcard) when they check in at their accommodation. Free public transport in the whole canton of Glarus will be included in the package, which is a major step towards a sustainable Glarnerland.

All guests who stay one night or more in the canton of Glarus and pay the individual guest tax will receive the GlarnerlandPass from their accommodation. If you would like the GlarnerlandPass but have not received it, please contact your accommodation.
They will then need an e-mail address from you to send you the registration form. Ideally, you should apply for the GlarnerlandPass before you arrive so that you can benefit from the very first day. Please contact your accommodation no earlier 3 days before your arrival if they do not contact you themselves.

For groups travelling with more than 10 people, SBB requires reservations.
Especially for groups travelling by bus, transport cannot be guaranteed without a reservation, as transport capacity is limited.
For reservations within the canton of Glarus:
Reservations can be made online on the SBB website or at a ticket counter or by telephone (SBB Contact Centre 0848 44 66 88 (CHF 0.08/min.)) Important when booking online: You need a SwissPass login, which anyone can apply for. In addition, guests with a guest card must simply state that they have a GA travelcard so that no fare is charged.

For reservations with ticket purchase outside the canton of Glarus:
In order to benefit from the group discount, the group journey must be booked at least 2 working days before departure.
For groups with the GlarnerlandPass who only require a ticket to Ziegelbrücke but the reservation to the destination, please purchase the reservation and the public transport ticket at a public transport sales point or via the SBB Contact Centre on 0848 44 66 88 (CHF 0.08/min.) and refer to the GlarnerlandPass.
This applies to groups travelling with the Group GlarnerlandPass and therefore only have one pass with the number of people written on it.
For the Braunwald funicular railway, the GlarnerlandPass must be presented at the ticket counter. You will then receive the appropriate number of tickets so that you can all pass through the turnstile.
For all individual travellers with personal GlarnerlandPasses, the turnstile can be passed directly with the GlarnerlandPass by scanning the QR code.
