Braunwald via ferratas
The unforgettable mountain experience at airy heights!
The via ferratas are located on the Eggstöcke, above the Gumen, which you can reach comfortably with the Gumen combined cable car.
The Eggstöcke can also be reached on foot from Braunwald (mountain station of the Braunwald cable car):
- Walking time to the entrance approx. 2.5 hours.
- Return route approx. 1.5 - 2 hours.
Route overview:
- Circuit Leiteregg (blue) with safety rope (difficulty approx. K3): 2.5 to 3.5 hours.
- Tour Vorder - Mittler Eggstock (red) with safety rope (difficulty approx. K3): 2.5 to 5.5 hours
- Tour Vorder - Hinter Eggstock (black) with safety rope (difficulty approx. K5): 5.5 to 6.5 hours
- NEW: Leiteregg ascent (double track) as a relief route to the previous K3 route (difficulty approx. K5)
The via ferratas lead over four summits. The routes are always on the ridge. Thus, the view is directed to the impressive landscape to the north and south during the entire traverse. A half hour walk to the start and a 45-minute walk back to Gumen make these routes so unique. In addition, the landscape could not be more impressive. Find out about the technique - this climb is worth it.
Instructions for use:
- Wear a good trekking or mountain boot
- Remember to wear warm clothes even in summer, rain protection is a matter of course
- Do not go without a climbing harness
- Use a certified climbing set and the appropriate fall brake
- Wearing a helmet is mandatory
- The safety rope "Steel 12 mm" is fixed throughout and should not be left under any circumstances
Important advice:
Webbing slings, rope lanyards, etc. break in the event of a fall above a certain height. This can have fatal consequences. Please report any visibly damaged equipment to the Kessler Shop on tel. +41 79 612 81 83 or at the Berggasthaus Gumen.
