The mountain summer in Braunwald can come
Braunwald, 1 June 2026 – The Braunwald Sportbahnen are ready for a fun-filled summer in the mountains. From Saturday, 6 June 2026, the Hüttenberg-Grotzenbüel gondola and the Gumen combined lift will be in operation every day. Guests can look forward to relaxing mountain experiences, a varied programme of events and culinary delights.
Summer in the mountains is here: the Braunwald ski lifts are ready and will be in daily operation from Saturday, 6 June 2026. The Hüttenberg-Grotzenbüel cable car, the Chämistube mountain restaurant, the rope park and the trottinette rental are already open on Thursday, 4 June 2026 (Corpus Christi). The summer season runs until 18 October 2026, after which the cable car to Grotzenbüel will operate on weekends until 1 November 2026..
Experience the mountains for the whole family
Braunwald has a lot to offer in the summer: the rope park on Grotzenbüel invites visitors to enjoy exciting climbing experiences, the trottinette rental offers fast descents back to the village and the Zwerg-Bartli adventure trail delights families with children with exciting attractions and cosy barbecue areas. The popular climbing routes around the Eggstöcke near the Gumen mountain restaurant are already open. Newly added are various wooden ball games for young and old in the Hüttenberg and on Grotzenbüel, where visitors can test their skills. In addition, the varied hiking and biking trails offer numerous opportunities to actively discover the Braunwald countryside.
Gastronomy and culture in the mountains
Ab dem 6. Juni 2026 sind das Berggasthaus Gumen sowie das Bergrestaurant Chämistube täglich geöffnet und laden zur genussvollen Einkehr mit herrlicher Aussicht ein. In der Chämistube wird jeden Samstag ein reichhaltiger Brunch mit regionalen Spezialitäten serviert und es finden weitere tolle Events wie ein Yoga und Klangschalen-Brunch, Tavolata-Abende und Kochkurse statt. Das Ortstockhaus startet am 13. Juni 2026 in die Sommersaison und bereits geöffnet sind nebst der Gastronomie im Dorf das Restaurant Nussbüel sowie das Bächibeizli.
Magical summer highlights
A special highlight of the summer is the fairy tale week from 26 July to 2 August 2026. During this week, Braunwald will be transformed into a fairy tale world of adventure for families. The week will kick off with the Family Day on Saturday, 26 July 2026, when the Fidibus fairy tale theatre will perform ‘Cinderella’ and enchant both young and old, and the Chämistube will host a large fairy tale brunch with accompanying programme. On this day, children up to the age of 16 will travel free of charge on the Braunwald sports cableways. All information can be found at www.braunwald.ch/familday.
