Succession of the management at VISIT Glarnerland AG
After seven successful years, Fridolin Hösli is handing over the management of the Glarus Tourism Organisation to new hands. As of 1 January 2026, the proven management team from within the organisation will take over the leadership under the chairmanship of Janina Schiesser.
Fridolin Hösli has been involved in the development of VISIT Glarnerland AG since 2018 and has played a decisive role in its development. With great skill, he managed to bring together all six regional tourism organisations and agrotourism in one organisation in a very short time, thus creating an optimal strategic starting point for the tourist marketing of the Glarus region.
On this basis, he led the transformation of the tourist information points into a modern guest reception where visitors can stay in an inviting environment, find out about experiences and buy local products.
Under Fridolin Hösli’s leadership, the Glarus region received significant federal funding to advance digitalisation to a leading position in Switzerland. The Glarus regionPass was created as a combination of a guest card and a digital travel companion, which offers not only the travelling guest but also the local population attractive leisure experiences, a wide range of information and benefits when buying local products.
Fridolin Hösli and his team made a substantial contribution to the smooth running of the ESAF 2025 Glarus region+ by organising the accommodation of all guests, managing the car parks and conducting the construction site tours via the VISIT Glarus region AG booking platform to the satisfaction of all those involved.
The Board of Directors of VISIT Glarnerland thanks Fridolin Hösli for his tireless and highly successful work over the past years. Mr Hösli leaves us with a well-organised, agile and future-proof organisation. We are saddened but also understand his wish to take a creative break to reorient himself. At the same time, we are proud to be able to entrust the management to three strong personalities from our own ranks. This ensures continuity and creates space for new impulses.
The new management team is as follows:
- Janina Schiesser from Ennenda, Chair of the Management Board, responsible for Marketing & Communication, Guest Services and Sales
- Sandra Green from Mollis, Deputy Chair of the Management Board, responsible for Destination Development
- Barbara Wohlwend from Leuggelbach, Head of HR & Finance

VISIT Glarnerland AG is a politically independent joint-stock company, majority-owned by the Glarus tourism industry. The organisation, which was founded in 2018, is not profit-driven and has service agreements with the canton, the municipalities and tourism service providers. Its main tasks include the development of tourism and leisure activities, destination marketing and guest services. The organisation is an important partner in the interface between tourism, leisure and regional products and plays a significant support role in the promotion of the region.
