Closing concerts of the Braunwald Choir Week:

Northern Lights The Chorwoche Braunwald 2026 is dedicated to the fascinating world of Nordic sound. The focus is on the works of the contemporary Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo. His choral works are characterised by dense, atmospheric soundscapes, multi-part clusters and long-held chords. The programme is complemented by works by Ēriks Ešenvalds from Latvia and Eric Whitacre from the USA, whose compositions are among the highlights of modern choral music. Whitacre’s style, often described as ‘neo-impressionistic,’ is particularly compatible with Gjeilo’s sound language. The choir and the vocal ensemble of the Chorwoche Braunwald will perform under the direction of Patrick Secchiari. Simone Roggen and Eszter Major (violin), Ada Meinich (viola), Karolina Öhman (cello) and Alexander Ruef (piano) will also be performing. Saturday, 8 August 2026, 7 p.m. Evangelical Reformed Church Linthal Sunday, 9 August 2026, 5 p.m. Rapperswil Castle Ordering tickets online in advance will make it easier for us to organise the event. The number of seats is limited in Rapperswil. You can find more details about the programme on our Website.

Chamber music at BSINTI: Irrlichter on the move

A radiant glow in the north of Finland, a cold glow from France, a warm glow from Siberia and a fountain of light after the long Norwegian winter: the concert programme ‘Irrlichter on the move’ combines different musical worlds and moods. Debussy and Rachmaninoff are the polar opposites between East and West. Both draw on oriental sound colours and illuminate them from very different perspectives. The programme is complemented by works by the Nordic composers Saariaho, Sinding and Wennäkoski, whose music captures the Finnish heart moon or the Norwegian spring with very special sound colours. With Karolina Öhman (cello) and Alexander Ruef (piano). Thursday, 6 August 2026, 20:00 hrs Kulturcafé BSINTI Braunwald Advance booking (recommended) from 15 June directly on the Bsinti Website
