The World Heritage Sardona as guest at the Mineral and Crystal Days Glarus Region 2026
At the Mineral and Crystal Days Glarus Region 2026, the World Heritage Site of Sardona will provide exciting insights into the geology of the region. The GeoGuides will explain to visitors how the Alps were formed and why the Tectonic Arena Sardona is considered a unique global showcase for mountain formation.
The Mineral and Crystal Days will take place from 18 to 22 March 2026 at the Hefti site in Hätzingen. The UNESCO World Heritage Tectonic Arena Sardona will be presenting its current projects, educational and experience-based offers in the World Heritage region. By taking part in the event, the World Heritage Sardona is highlighting the close connection between regional geology, education and the public. The GeoGuides Sardona, who will be manning the stand, are looking forward to meeting interested visitors.
The mineral exhibition, which will be held from Wednesday to Friday, is aimed in particular at school classes and interested members of the public. Admission is free on these days. On weekends, the Mineral Exchange with its sales stands for minerals, fossils, crystals, precious stones and gemstones will be a place to discover and marvel at (admission CHF 5.-).
The annual theme for the 2026 membership of the World Heritage Sardona is also in line with the exhibition, and is all about minerals. The monthly guided tours are themed and offer fascinating insights into the world of mountain formation and minerals.
