Family ski day with a grand finale

In Elm, an ideal family ski area with a wonderful view beckons. After a day on skis, the final descent is on a sledge down into the valley.

The Elm ski resort in the canton of Glarus is perfect for a relaxed family ski day. Only about 90 minutes from Zurich, visitors can expect a well-organised, family-friendly winter sports area with a wonderful view of the Tschingelhörner mountains and the UNESCO World Heritage Site Tektonikarena Sardona.

The Ämpächli children’s area is particularly suitable for children who want to take their first turns in the snow – with magic carpets, small jumps and playful obstacles. More advanced skiers will enjoy the wide slopes and the ride on the Schabell chairlift to an altitude of over 2,000 metres.

A special highlight awaits at the end of the day: a sledge run from the Ämpächli back down to the valley is about four kilometres long – a fast-paced conclusion to a varied winter outing for the whole family.
