4700 cyclists experience accident-free cycling event on the Klausen Pass

Despite a wet start to the day, around 4,700 enthusiastic cyclists once again enjoyed a unique experience on the Klausen Pass on Sunday, 14 September. The popular event has long been well established and continues to enjoy great popularity. The atmosphere among the participants was extremely relaxed and appreciative – much to the delight of the organisers of the Klausen Monument Association.

Rain in the early morning – sun in the afternoon

Although it rained in the morning, the cycling fans were not discouraged and set off from Linthal in the canton of Glarus and from Unterschächen in the canton of Uri to the pass summit at 1,948 metres above sea level. As always, the focus was on the fun of cycling and enjoying the unique landscape. There was no time measurement, and participation was free of charge.

A special success: accident-free and with great consideration

What makes the Klausen Monument 2025 so special is that not a single accident was recorded. This flawless result fills the organising committee with great gratitude and pride. What was even more impressive was the consideration and respect with which all the cyclists behaved: whether on the ascent, on the narrow sections of the pass or during the descent – everywhere it was clear how much the participants looked out for each other and how respectfully they rode.
