Winter hike Grotzenbüel - Ortstockhaus
The hike starts at the Grotzenbüel mountain station (1559 m above sea level), accessible by the Grotzenbüel gondola lift.

From Grotzenbüel take the winter hiking trail towards the ski trail, then along the ski trail (watch out for oncoming traffic, please walk single file) followed by a prepared winter hiking trail. The reward: one of the most beautiful sunny terraces in the Glarus region and a magnificent view of the Ortstock. From the mountain inn Ortstockhaus you can return via the ski trail and prepared paths back to Grotzenbüel, the starting point, or continue to the mountain inn Gumen and from there take the Gumen combined lift back to Braunwald.
