Swisspearl is the second largest fibre cement manufacturer in Europe and is closely rooted in Swiss and Glarus building culture. The globally active company has been headquartered in Niederurnen in the Glarus region since 1903.Mountain huts in the Glarus region and the Alpine region are bordered with fibre cement panels, and iconic design furniture made of the same material can be found all over the world. The Ortstockhaus in Braunwald (here in the cover picture), for example, is not only built with the special material, but also during renovation.

Swisspearl (formerly Eternit) develops weather-resistant and aesthetic fibre cement panels, which are produced using the Hatschek process – named after the inventor. It is a mixture of cement and fibrous aggregates. In the further process, the panels are colored according to customer requirements. This is why fibre cement offers a wide range of design options in architecture and design, whether for façades, roofs, interior fittings and fire protection or gardens – in Glarus and worldwide.
