Snowshoe trail Gumen - Ortstockhaus
The hike starts at the Gumen mountain station (1901 m above sea level), accessible by the Gumen combined cable car.

First follows a relatively steep descent to the Braunwaldalp (Oberstafel). The route runs along the ski slope (poles and snowshoes or microspikes recommended) and leads on a pleasant, prepared path to the junction to the Ortstockhaus. Those who do not want to miss this architecturally monument-protected gem at 1772 m above sea level can make a short detour of 5 to 10 minutes. The reward: one of the most beautiful sun terraces of the Glarus region and a magnificent view of the Ortstock. From the restaurant you can reach Grotzenbuel or return to the starting point via ski trails and prepared paths.
