Scree Cone on the Mürtschenstock
Wild scree cones and fields of rubble bear witness to the tremendous power of wind and weather factors in the mountains.
The climate is constantly working on weathering and removing the thick layers of limestone on the Mürtschenstock. First stones and coarse blocks accumulate in a gully, before they spread like a fan on the debris cone. The largest blocks reach the foot of the slope, while the finer debris remains in the upper part of the debris cone.
