Experience the wonderful winter landscape around Braunwald with us and immerse yourself in the magical mountain world far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Surrounded by snow-covered fir trees, we take the white path under our big "feet". Here and there snow trickles from a fir branch and the sun's rays tickle our faces. The area of Braunwald is a true winter idyll.

Welcome to the Glarus Alps. Nice, you have found your way to the Glarnerland Alpine School and thus to this varied and beautiful mountain range. To ensure that you are optimally prepared for the upcoming tour, we ask you to read the following carefully. Here, between mountain and valley, your new winter adventure awaits you.
Prerequisites
Experience in snowshoeing is required.
You need a level of fitness for a four-and-a-half-hour ascent and descent.
Day 1: Walking time 4.5h, 620 meters of ascent and descent, length 12km
From Grotzenbühl we hike in the direction of Bergeten. Far away from slopes and trails, courageously past the "Tüfels Chilchli", we trudge up to the Rietstöckli.
On the way back, we make a detour to the Ortstockhaus, where we can fortify ourselves wonderfully. Return journey to Glarus.
Meeting point
We meet at 08:45 a.m. at the starting point of the Glarnerland Alpine School in Braunwald (just above the mountain station).
If you need rental equipment or have reserved it, please be on site at 08:30 a.m. (15min earlier) for the material handover.
Additional costs
The cost of the Brauwaldbahn is not included in the price.
