Schneeschuhtour Habergschwänd-Nüenalp

Meeting point: 10:15 a.m. at the Kerenzerbergbahn valley station, Talalpstrasse 15, 8757 Filzbach

Before we strap on our snowshoes, the chairlift rocks us at a leisurely pace into the Habergschwänd, above Filzbach. Then we trudge through the deep snow via Chalthüttli to Alp Oberer Nüen. The trail continues in a wide arc around the Guligrind down to the Chrampfegg. From there we have a wonderful view of the Glarus mountains and the Linth plain. Then we walk up again through the mountain forest and continue straight ahead to Alp Mittlist Nüen. Now we see Amden, Lake Walen and the Churfirsten. Finally, it goes downhill again and soon we see the mountain station of the chairlift in Habergschwänd. In the Habergschwänd mountain restaurant we can fortify ourselves well and in a variety of ways. If you still love some action, you can whiz down into the valley on a toboggan, for rent at the chairlift CHF 10.00.-

Route: Habergschwänd - Chalchhüttli - Oberer Nüen - Guligrind - Chrampfegg - Mittlist Nüen - Habergschwänd.

Length: 5.2 km, 380m ascent and descent, approx. 2.5 hours walking time
