Schabziger Höhenweg
Accompanied by ten newly designed information boards, the trail is an exciting and instructive nature trail with a beautiful view and lots of pure nature. From the starting point in Habergschwänd, you hike in the direction of the Nüenalp adventure cheese dairy over the Sattelboden with its new fireplace and mountain panorama to the Mullerenberg and from there via Chummenwald to the destination of the hike, the Naturfreundehaus Fronalpstock. On the way and arriving at your destination, you will be rewarded with a magnificent view over the entire Glarus region and the Linth plain and have definitely earned a tasty meal, for example Zigerhöräli. The following gastronomic establishments are open along the way: - Restaurant Habergschwänd - Besenbeiz on the Nüenalp during the alpine season - Mullerä-Beizli also run as a broom pub - Naturfreundehaus Fronalp A total of ten new information boards are distributed on the Schabziger Höhenweg, which provide information about the history, production and marketing of the Ziger. As a continuation, you can continue over the Ennetberge to Glarus train station (5.6 km, 951 meters descent in 2 hours) or you can complete the loop as a two-day hike on the Geo-Phänomeneweg, back to the starting point Habergschwänd/Filzbach. If you don't want to walk back to Näfels-Mollis train station (6.4 km, 960 metres descent in approx. 2 hours), you can order the Reust on-demand taxi in good time before your destination on 079 283 77 77.
