We offer you an attractive round trip ticket for the circular hike, which you can purchase directly on the buses. The round trip ticket includes the necessary bus rides, a single ride on the Kies-Mettmen cable car and a single ride on the Sportbahnen Elm gondola lift.

From Kies you can take the cable car up to Mettmen. You start your hike on the Mettmen-Alp (1608m). A short ascent leads to the Garichti reservoir (Mettmensee).

Now we first walk along the lakeshore. The view over the lake back is beautiful. At point 1625m it climbs slightly. A beautiful path leads over point 1776m to Alp Ober Stafel.

From there, the path gets a bit steeper. At point 1926m you leave the Leglerhüttenweg. More or less it goes uphill along the stream to point 2014m. Here you turn left and climb up to point 2135m. The path flattens out until it climbs again at 2198m. You reach the Wildmadfurggeli (2292m). A magnificent panorama opens up to you to Piz Sardona, Piz Segnas, Tschingelhoren, Piz Grisch and the Vorap glacier and many more.

Now the descent begins.

At point 2117m you can see the Chüebodensee on the right. First on a narrow path, then on an alpine path you hike down to Ober Ämpächli Alp (1740m). From here it goes on a beautiful path to Unter Ämpächli (1485m). On a clear day, you can even see the famous Martinsloch in the Sardona World Heritage Site opposite.

The gondola lift of the Sportbahnen Elm finally takes you down to Elm, where you get on the bus in the direction of Schwanden.
