Rundwanderung Braunwald - Oberblegisee

The deep blue Oberblegisee is one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in Switzerland and exudes a lot of mysticism because of its unexplored outflow. Wild mountain streams and wonderful alpine flora frame this natural spectacle. This hike is particularly popular with families and for school trips, as it is ideal for picnicking, sunbathing and swimming.

Circular hike to the unique Oberblegisee

The hike starts on the Gumen or Grotzenbüel and begins with a slightly sloping path with a magnificent panorama. A path that leads across meadows and through sparse forests leads into the valley of the Bösbächi.

There, you can enjoy hearty food from the region in the cosy Bächibeizli restaurant. A beautiful mountain path then leads to the Oberblegisee.

Here you can pause and be enchanted by the breathtaking scenery. The echo echoes loudly from the impressive Glärnisch massif.

From there, it goes downhill past the Mittelstafel of Alp Oberblegi to the mountain station of the Brunnenbergbahn.

The cable car takes you to Luchsingen and from there you take the train/bus back to Linthal or out of the valley directly towards home.
