Nicole Johänntgen «Henry» – Original Quartett
Women in Jazz: The busy saxophonist Nicole Johänntgen visits Glarus for the second time after 2020 with the program "Henry" - this time in the original line-up with the musicians from New Orleans.
The album Henry was recorded in New Orleans in 2017. Nicole Johänntgen was so successful that several Henry follow-up projects were subsequently created; one of them also made a guest appearance in Glarus in 2020. Now the busy saxophonist is back on the road in Europe with the original line-up from the USA. The brilliant and legendary "second line" drum groove of New Orleans meets the pumping sousaphone, which serves the bass range and lays the harmonic ground for fiery improvisations between trombone and saxophone.
