Lake Ängisee
The Ängisee, also called Engisee, is located below the Leglerhütte at an altitude of 1990 meters above sea level. The Ängiseebach flows from the Bergseeli, which flows into the Übelbach a little later.
Accessibility:
The most accessible is the Ängisee from Schwanden. From there take the gondola lift to Mettmenalp to Lake Garichti. From here, depending on the route, it is two to three hours of hiking time to the mountain lake.
Food and drink are offered by the very well-attended Leglerhütte above the Engisee.
Fishing in the lake is allowed, but you need a permit from the cantonal fisheries administration. Actually, there are two lakes right next to each other, with only the more western one being called Ängisee. Occasionally, however, one also speaks of the Engiseen.
