A herb garden strengthens trust in our nature. In Braunwald, for example, you will also find an alpine herb garden where you can make herb-rich discoveries. This unique place of rest invites you to linger.

Since 2008, an alpine herb garden with 80 different herbs has been thriving in the harsh mountain climate in Braunwald. Pimpernell, angelica, wormwood or lady's mantle grow in the garden. A large Jerusalem artichoke plant welcomes visitors at the entrance, mallows and marigolds shine in competition and in between some chamomile plants sprout. Chemical fertilizers are not used. Instead, grass clippings, wood chips, leaves or herb manure are used.
The herb garden is supported by the village association and is also used commercially. What grows in the garden is processed into products that are sold in the shops and at the village market or processed in the Braunwalden hotel kitchens. In addition to the harvest, guided tours of the garden are offered to those interested in nature
Parents with children, tourists or gardeners from other countries are enthusiastic about the fine plants from the alpine garden.
Herbal Products Sale
Products from the herb garden such as herbal salt, tea blend, flower bath or soap are sold at the village market, which takes place every Saturday in the high season on the Braunwald station terrace. It is also possible to buy from the Braunwald village shop and the Schwettiberg shop. In the hotel kitchen In the Hotel Tödiblick and in the Märchenhotel, the Braunwald herbs are used in the kitchen.
