Klettersteige - Kletterzwerg K1
CLIMBING DWARF K1
The "climbing dwarf" was specially built for small children who are still too young for the beginner and children's via ferrata (K2-K3) behind it or who generally dare to try a via ferrata for the first time.
Here children learn to move on stone, rock, stirrups and steps and can practice coordination on the steel cable with carabiner handling (hanging). The route is manageable, quick to master and still offers some elements that children particularly like.
The highlight: The Tyrolienne (tensioned rope) – pulling yourself from A to B.
The climbing dwarf is very recommended for all those who want to get to know the via ferratas.
Here, too, the duty of supervision by parents or adult accompanying persons applies in particular. A good and realistic assessment of the children's climbing level is necessary!
LOCATION
The climbing dwarf is located directly behind the Gumen mountain inn, between the stones and boulders behind the house. The entrance is to the left of the mountain inn (same direction as the beginner's and children's via ferrata). You can get back to the restaurant quickly at any time.
PREREQUISITE / AGE
Absolute head for heights is a prerequisite. Via ferrata hikers act on their own responsibility at all times!
Recommended age: from approx. 5 years. This is a guideline and not a guarantee. It is very important that parents can assess their children's condition, surefootedness and general behaviour when climbing. With this via ferrata, children are not as exposed to height as with the children's via ferrata, but surefootedness is just as important to avoid falls. The correct wearing of the carabiners is mandatory.
For the first attempts and especially for small children, the accompaniment of adults who are fully responsible for them is a prerequisite!
ROUTE
(Clockwise progression)
The route starts directly behind the Gumen mountain inn. To the left of the house, follow the path towards the entrance to the children's via ferrata, after a few metres turn left for the K1 route. After the course, you will then return to the Gumen mountain inn.
TIME
Time is about 30-45 minutes (varies depending on the age and height of the child).
TIPS
It is imperative that both carabiners from the via ferrata set (Y-styles) are always attached to the rope, even in seemingly simple passages. Otherwise, a trip or a fall can be fatal.
Be sure to read through the relevant sections in the menu under "Planning" for your own preparation.
IMPORTANT / DISCLAIMER
Via ferrata walkers act on their own responsibility! Parents are responsible for their children.
