Käsepass Alp Empächli

Alp Empächli is located high above Elm on the valley side of the Elm sports lifts. From the mountain station of the gondola lift, follow the alpine road to the left to the alpine huts of Unterstäfel.

Jörg Rhyner, the alpine farmer of the Hintere Sennte, also has the cheese passport stamp. There is also a stamp attached to the Oberstafel, which is located right next to the Munggä Hüttä. The rustic ski restaurant is a household name for many skiers.

A hike from the Empächli-Oberstafel over the Pleus and Wildmad/Wildmadfurggeli to the Leglerhütte /Mettmen is wonderful.

The most beautiful hikes to Alp Empächli:

• From Elm, take the gondola lift of the Elm sports railways to Empächli – the alp is only a short walk away on the left. Here, the cheese pass box is already at the Unterstafel.

• If you want to go further up, you can hike via Oberstafel (where there is also a Kästli) and Pleus / Wildmad to Mettmen. If you want to spend the night at the Berghotel Mettmen or the Naturfreundehaus Mettmen, you can comfortably stamp the stamp at Alp Nideren-Mettmen the next day - if you haven't already picked it up on the descent from the Wildmad.
