Kärpf hike Mettmen - Elm (Wildmad)
The well-known and popular mountain route over Wildmad with the opportunity for wildlife observation.
From Kies, take the cable car up to Mettmen and start the hike there on the Mettmen Alp (1608m). A short ascent leads to Lake Garichti.
Then you follow the shoreline, where various fire pits invite you to pause. Afterwards, you pass the Widerstein climbing garden (approx. 1820 m) up to the highest point of the hike, the Wildmadfurggeli. A magnificent panorama opens up to Piz Sardona, Tschingelhörner, and many more.
Now the descent begins: after a short time, you will see Lake Chüeboden. First on a narrow path, then on an alpine trail, you walk down to the Ober Ämpächli Alp. From here, follow a beautiful path to Unter Ämpächli. In good visibility, you can even see the famous Martinsloch in the Sardona World Natural Heritage opposite.
The gondola of the Sportbahnen Elm finally takes you down to Elm.
