Haltengut Quarry
Limestone, one of the few raw materials produced in Switzerland, is actively mined here.
Due to an earthquake, 1 million cubic metres of rock fell into the valley during a rockslide around 1855. The following year, a second major rockslide occurred at the same place. Since then, Quintner lime has been mined from the scree.
