Guided tour through Landesplattenberg Engi, slate mine

Let yourself be enchanted by the gigantic underground halls in the former slate mine in the Landesplattenberg Engi and the magical atmosphere inside the mountain.
A visit and guided tour of the Landesplattenberg Engi, the old slate mine in the Sernftal, is an experience. Let yourself be enchanted by the gigantic underground halls and the magical atmosphere inside the mountain.
The meeting place for the guided tours is the exhibition pavilion built in 1997 at the end of the village of Engi. 130 meters of altitude have to be overcome to reach the entrance to the tunnel. The guides give a vivid picture of the way to work and the everyday life of the slate workers.
In addition to the mining of the slate, a slide show will be shown in the tunnel. The guided tours last about 2.5 hours, including a slide show.
It is also possible to organize a minibus for people who do not want to walk. For the ascent and the visit of the caverns, we recommend good shoes and warm clothing. A helmet is provided.
