Guided tour of the Alpine Museum

Switzerland's first SAC hut is located in southern Glarus. Not only that – it was also the people of Glarus who founded the first mountain guide association and were involved in the founding of the Swiss Alpine Club in 1863. The first ski race in Switzerland took place in the small Glarus region. In addition to alpine pioneering achievements, the mountain canton tells an incredible history in geology - dinosaur tracks can be found on Chli Tödi and other geological highlights in the region. The Braunwald Alpine Museum shows all these exciting facets in an impressive and entertaining tour.

During a guided tour of the Braunwald Alpine Museum, we meet on site at Dorfstrasse 5. Afterwards, the approx. 1-hour guided tour starts. Depending on your interests, in addition to the areas of geology / first ascent & mountain guide / SAC / Glarus Ski Club / temporary exhibition, other topics can also be added (e.g. game).
